Thanksgiving
Turkey tips:
-The most important thing for ordering your Thanksgiving meal needs is
that the order deadline is Friday November 20th.

-When ordering turkeys or turkey breasts, the rule of thumb is one pound
per adult and a half pound per child, anything you get past that will be for
leftovers.

-Our turkeys and turkey breasts are shipped fresh at between 25-28
degrees, per the USDA.  Because of this, the turkeys tend to be "a little
crusty" on the outside, they are NOT frozen.  Running cold water over
the bird (which is a good idea to rinse it anyway) and "the crust" will
disappear. For more information on this click
here to go to the USDA
web site.

-The internal temperature for a properly cooked turkey should be 165
degrees in the breast or the thigh.  It is important to make sure you are
not hitting any bone when getting the reading, it will give you an untrue
temperature.

-For any other questions please call us or visit the
USDA web site for
more information.
Have a safe and happy
Thanksgiving
